Enterprise Tier Connectivity
We offer a premium business-class hosting product with redundant fiber optic T3 lines to multiple and diverse backbones (Uunet, C&W, and Sprint). Routing systems constantly monitor the backbone performance of all three providers and automatically send Internet traffic down the shortest path.
Enterprise Quality Web Servers
We use both Silicon Graphics Origin 200 servers and custom built enterprise level server hardware.
The Silicon Graphics Origin 200 servers have between 384 and 1024 MB of RAM. They feature a 9GB system disk and a 36GB striped/plexed data storage disk. The web servers have dual 180 MHZ RISC CPU's and use the IRIX operating system and run the Apache web server.
The custom built server hardware is Pentium Processor based and is running a custom build version of Free BSD.
Enterprise Level Routing
We use Cisco 7505 routers for Internet backbone level routing with a 100 MB per second interface into the backbones. Our backbone features a Foundry BigIron fiber switch connected via gigabit Ethernet.
Data Protection
Our backup storage units are 40 TB (terabyte) robotic tape backup units from Storage Technologies. Incremental data backups are performed nightly, with full backups performed weekly.
Physical Security
Our facilities are monitored 24 hours per day. Security guards and video monitoring protect entry to the building. A biometric hand scanner and pass- codes restrict access to the server core. In addition, the building is rated to withstand a category 5 hurricane and features a redundant diesel backup generator (1.25 Megawatt), dual 300 KVA Liebert battery backup units (UPS), and backup Liebert air-conditioning units.
